Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this project, trying to get a handle on all the different states you can find at Citi Field. It’s been a bit of a journey, let me tell you.
I started out just poking around, you know, seeing what I could find. I figured the best way to do this was to actually, like, go there. And that’s what I did. I bought a ticket to Citi Field to see the states with my own eyes!
The Research Process
First thing I did was, I simply walked around the outside. Just took it all in. It’s always good to start with a broad view, get the lay of the land, before diving into the details.
- First base side.
- Third base side.
- Home plate side.
Then I actually stepped inside the building! Took the escalator up a level, and I started noticing. It’s all about the details, right?
After exploring a bunch of different places, I made my own map and highlighted the important areas I noticed. It was quite a lot!.
But I also took loads of pictures. Pictures of everything – the seats, the score board, the signs, even the trash cans! Figured it all might be useful later. It felt like solving puzzle.
The thing that really helped was, I actually talked to people. Some of the staff, some of the fans. I just asked them simple questions like, “What’s your favorite part of the stadium?” or “What do you think is the most unique thing about this place?” Got some really interesting answers that way.
So, after all that exploring, photographing, and chatting, I finally felt like I had a good handle on the place. It was a fun project, and I learned a ton. Plus, I got to go to a ball game! Can’t beat that.
