Okay, so here’s how I went about making my picks for college football week 12. It wasn’t exactly rocket science, but I did put some thought into it.

Started with the Basics
First, I pulled up the schedule for the week. Gotta know who’s playing who, right? I just used the ESPN website, because it’s easy to find and had all the matchups listed.
Checked the Rankings
Next, I looked at the latest rankings. I mean, it’s not everything, but generally the higher-ranked team is, you know, better. I used the AP Poll, mostly because it is familiar.
Dug into Stats a Bit
- Offense: I looked at things like points per game, yards per game, you know, the basic stuff. Who’s scoring a bunch? Who’s moving the ball well?
- Defense: Same deal, but flipped. Who’s stingy with points? Who’s tough to move the ball against?
- Turnovers: Who’s protecting the ball? Who’s forcing mistakes? Turnovers can be huge game-changers.
Considered Recent Performance
I also checked out how teams have been playing lately. Are they on a hot streak? Have they been struggling? A team that’s playing well, even if they’re not highly ranked, can be dangerous.
A few upsets I have considered:
- The team who is playing at home.
- Another underdog team looked good, because they’ve been strong on defense lately.
- One team who lost a close one to a top-ranked team the week before.
Made My Picks!
Finally, I just went through each game and made my picks. Some were easy, some were tough calls. I went with my gut, which is usually good for a few surprises, and finished up my selection!

It’s all just for fun, anyway. Hopefully, I got a few right!
