Okay, guys, let’s talk about the Honda CBR900RR Fireblade. This bad boy, man, it’s a legend. Back in 1992, I was really into sportbikes. So when I heard Honda was coming out with this new 900cc machine, I got excited. Everyone else was trying to make 750cc bikes, but Honda just went bigger with 900cc.

First time I saw it, I knew I had to have it. I saved up my money, and man, it was worth it. This thing is crazy fast. It’s got this 919cc inline-four engine that just screams. The power, oh boy, it’s like 128 horsepower. When you twist that throttle, it just goes. And it’s not just about speed, it handles like a dream too.
I remember taking it out to the track for the first time. I leaned into those corners, and the Fireblade just stuck to the line. It was like it was on rails. And the brakes, super responsive. I felt so in control, even at high speeds.
One thing that surprised me was how comfortable it is. I mean, for a sportbike, you’d expect it to be all cramped, right? But not this one. I took it on some long rides, and it was great. I could ride for hours without feeling totally wrecked.
Now, it’s not all perfect. I had to do some work on it over the years. Mostly just regular stuff like oil changes and the usual maintenance. I did upgrade the exhaust, though, to give it a bit more growl.
- Engine: I cleaned out the carbs a few times to keep it running smooth.
- Brakes: Changed the brake pads, kept the fluid fresh. Nothing too crazy.
- Tires: Went through a few sets of tires, naturally. Gotta have good rubber on a bike like this.
- Bodywork: I polished it, waxed it, kept it looking shiny. A few scratches here and there, but that’s just character, right?
All in all, the CBR900RR Fireblade is a classic for a reason. It’s fast, it’s fun, and it’s reliable. I’ve had so many good times on this bike. It’s been a great ride, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

So, yeah, if you ever get a chance to ride one of these, do it. You won’t regret it. It’s a piece of motorcycle history, and it’s a blast to ride. The weight is only around 185 kilos when it’s empty, so it’s pretty light for such a powerful bike.
It was one of the best bikes in the ’90s, for sure. I rode it all over the place and had some good times. It’s definitely a classic.
