Cagiva Mito For Sale: Where to Find One? (Best Places to Look Online and Offline)

Okay, so today I’m messing around with this thing called the Cagiva Mito. It’s basically a little sports bike, pretty cool looking. I’ve always been a fan of smaller bikes, and this one caught my eye a while back. It’s got a 125cc two-stroke engine, which is a bit of a throwback, but that’s part of the charm.

Getting Started

First things first, I had to find one. I looked around online, and it turns out these things aren’t super common where I live. Eventually, I found a used one on a motorcycle classifieds site. The price was about 1370 pounds, which seemed reasonable.

I went to take a look, the owner was located in Spalding. The bike was in decent shape, a few scratches here and there, but nothing major. We chatted for a bit, and I decided to go for it.

First Impressions

Once I got it home, I spent some time just looking it over, getting a feel for it. It’s a compact little thing, but it’s got a real sporty look to it. The engine is tiny, but I was curious to see how it performed.

Taking it for a Spin

I took it out for a ride around the neighborhood, and man, this thing is fun! It’s not the fastest bike out there, but it’s got a good amount of pep for its size. The two-stroke engine has a unique sound to it, and it’s surprisingly responsive. It handles really well too, it’s light and nimble, perfect for zipping around town. It had traveled a total of 8.1k kilometers, and considering that it was produced in 1997, this mileage is quite reasonable.

Maintenance and Tweaks

  • After a few rides, I decided to do some basic maintenance. Changed the oil, checked the spark plug, cleaned the air filter, that sort of thing.

  • I also did a little bit of online research and found a forum dedicated to these bikes. Lots of helpful folks there, sharing tips and tricks. I even found a used exhaust system for cheap, so I bought it and installed it.

  • There is still a lot of room for modification, such as replacing the wheels. I found that a wheel was only sold for 100 euros.

Overall Thoughts

All in all, I’m really happy with this little Cagiva Mito. It’s a fun, unique bike that’s perfect for my kind of riding. It’s not going to win any drag races, but it’s got plenty of character, and it’s a blast to ride. Plus, it’s a bit of a conversation starter, people always ask about it when I’m out and about. If you’re looking for something a little different, and you don’t mind a bit of two-stroke action, I’d definitely recommend checking one out.

It seems that there are over 170 of these used motorcycles available on the market, so if you’re interested, you can still find one and enjoy the fun it brings.
