BMW S1000RR 2020: How Much Does It Really Cost?

Okay, here’s my take on sharing my experience with the BMW S1000RR 2020, just like a seasoned blogger would:

BMW S1000RR 2020: How Much Does It Really Cost?

Alright guys, so today I’m gonna spill the beans on my time wrenching on a 2020 BMW S1000RR. Buckle up, it’s gonna be a ride!

First off, let me say, this bike is a BEAST. I mean, the sheer power it puts down is insane. But power isn’t everything, right? I wanted to personalize it, make it mine. So, I started thinking about upgrades.

The Tear Down:

  • Pulled off the fairings. Man, those things are a pain to get off without scratching anything. Took my sweet time, making sure I didn’t mess up any of the clips.
  • Next, I swapped out the stock exhaust. The stock one is okay, but I wanted something with a deeper growl. I ended up going with an aftermarket slip-on. The sound difference? Night and day!

ECU Flash:

Alright, so after the exhaust, I knew I needed to remap the ECU. Didn’t want it running lean and potentially messing things up. I bought a flashing cable and downloaded a tune specifically for my exhaust setup. I followed the instructions carefully, double-checking everything before hitting that “flash” button. It’s always a little nerve-wracking messing with the bike’s brain, you know?

Suspension Tweaks:

The S1000RR’s stock suspension is pretty decent, but I wanted it dialed in perfectly for my weight and riding style. So, I messed around with the compression and rebound settings, front and rear. It took a few test rides and some adjustments, but eventually, I got it feeling just right. Cornering felt so much more planted!

A Little Bling:

  • Added some frame sliders, just in case. Better safe than sorry, especially with a bike this expensive.
  • Swapped out the levers for adjustable ones. Much more comfortable for my hands, especially on longer rides.
  • Put on a tail tidy kit. Cleaned up the rear end and made it look much more aggressive.

The Results:

Honestly, the difference after all the mods was incredible. The bike felt more responsive, sounded amazing, and handled like a dream. It was a long process, but totally worth it. It’s not just a bike anymore; it’s my bike, you know? Every time I ride it, I get a huge grin on my face.

Now, I know some of you might be thinking, “Why mess with a perfectly good bike?” And that’s a fair point. But for me, it’s not just about performance. It’s about the experience of working on it, learning about the machine, and making it my own. That’s what makes it special.

So, if you’re thinking about doing some mods to your own S1000RR, I say go for it! Just do your research, take your time, and don’t be afraid to ask for help. You might just end up with the bike of your dreams.

That’s it for today, folks. Ride safe!
