Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with this thing called “yale em”. Honestly, I didn’t even know what it was at first. But after some digging, I figured it’s some kind of emulator, which I’ve used before. I’m not a tech genius or anything, but I like to try new stuff.
First thing I did was look for a place to download it. That took a bit of time, hopping around a bunch of sites. Finally found a version that seemed okay, so I downloaded it.
Then I tried to run it, and boom – nothing. Turns out, I needed some other stuff installed to get it to work. Like this “run-time” thingy, can’t recall the name now. I had to hunt that down and get it installed, too. I got it and installed it.
Getting the right stuff

Figuring out the files: I spent a bit of time trying to find these ROM files I needed. Ended up grabbing a couple that looked interesting.

Loading the files: After that, it was pretty straightforward. I launched the emulator, and it had a simple “Load” button. Clicked that, chose my file, and we were off.
After fumbling around, I figured out how to load the files it needed. I think they’re called ROMs? Never used that before. Found a few online and downloaded a bunch. Then I loaded one into the emulator.
It took a while to get used to the controls. They were all over the place, I guess it’s different for each game you load. After messing with the settings for a while, I kinda got the hang of it.
Then I just started playing. It was pretty cool, I guess. Like stepping back in time or something. The graphics were super old-school, but the games were still kinda fun. I played for a few hours, trying out different stuff.
Overall, it was a pretty neat experience. I wouldn’t say I’m a total expert now, but I definitely learned a thing or two. Maybe I’ll mess around with it some more later. Who knows? It’s always fun to try new things, right? That’s all I’ve got for today, it was a good day!
