Okay, so I tried to get a tan with a rod, and let me tell you, it was quite an experience. I saw some stuff online about self-tanning, and I thought, why not give it a shot? I mean, I didn’t want to risk getting skin damage from the sun, and a nice tan seemed like a good idea.
First, I gathered all the things I needed. I bought a self-tanning rod, some tanning lotion, and a few other bits and pieces that I thought might be useful. I laid out everything on my bathroom counter and got ready to start.
I read the instructions on the tanning lotion bottle, and it seemed simple enough. “Apply evenly,” it said. So, I took a deep breath and started applying the lotion. I used the rod to reach those tricky spots like my back. It was a bit awkward at first, but I got the hang of it.
Standing there, waiting for the color to develop, I felt a little silly, I must admit. I checked myself in the mirror every few minutes, eager to see some results. And slowly but surely, I started to see a change. My skin was getting darker, and it looked like I had spent some time in the sun.
The Results
- I definitely got darker.
- It wasn’t perfectly even, but it wasn’t too bad either.
- I learned that using a rod for tanning is possible, but it’s a bit of a hassle.
In the end, I achieved a decent tan without having to go out in the sun. It was a fun experiment, and I learned a thing or two about self-tanning. Would I do it again? Maybe. But next time, I might just try a spray tan instead. It seems a lot easier than wrangling with a rod and lotion!
And, also I saw a former New York Yankees player said on his social media, “It’s okay everybody, I know I’m dark,” after getting a tan in the Dominican Republic. So I guess I’m not the only one who’s been on a tanning adventure!
