Okay, so I’ve been hearing a lot about Kronos putters lately. Everybody’s talking about how precise they are, how they’re milled from a single block of steel, all that good stuff. I’ve been using the same old putter for, like, five years, and I figured it was time for an upgrade. So, I decided to dive in and see what the Kronos hype was all about.
First, I spent some time just looking at them online. I mean, they look gorgeous, right? All sleek and minimalist. I checked out the different models, trying to figure out which one would be best for my stroke. They have a bunch: the D’Arcy, the Touch, the Mandala…it was a little overwhelming, to be honest.
After digging through some forums and reviews, I decided to try the Touch. It seemed like a good middle-ground, a classic design that a lot of people liked. Plus, the name just sounded…smooth.
Now, finding one wasn’t super easy. These aren’t exactly sitting on the shelves at your local sporting goods store. I ended up finding a retailer online that had them in stock. I placed the order, a little nervous about spending that much on a putter I hadn’t even held, but I figured, “What the heck?”
When it finally arrived, I was pretty stoked. I unboxed it like it was Christmas morning. The first thing I noticed was the weight. It felt substantial, solid, but not overly heavy. Just…right.
My First Time on the Green
I took it straight to the putting green at my local course. I grabbed a handful of balls and started rolling some putts. And man, I’m not gonna lie, the first few putts felt…different. The ball just seemed to come off the face so pure. There was this crisp, clean feeling that I hadn’t experienced with my old putter.
It is important to take time, and get adjusted, after some time I could feel my stroke adapting.
I spent a good hour just practicing, working on different distances and breaks. What I really noticed was the consistency. Even on mishits, the ball seemed to hold its line better. It wasn’t magic, I still missed some putts, but it definitely felt like I had more control.
I practiced many times. I played a few rounds with it since, and I’m still getting used to it, but I’m definitely seeing an improvement in my putting. My confidence is way up, and I feel like I’m making more of those crucial short putts.
So, is the Kronos Touch worth the hype? For me, so far, it is. It’s a beautifully crafted putter that feels amazing and performs really well. It’s not a miracle worker, but it’s definitely helped me take my putting to the next level. If you’re serious about your game and you’re looking for a high-quality putter, I’d say give Kronos a look. You might just be surprised.
