Yamaha YZF 125 R Top Speed Runs: See How Fast It Goes! (Video Included)

Alright, guys, so I’ve been getting a ton of questions about the top speed of my Yamaha YZF 125 R. So, I decided to put it to the test and, you know, document the whole thing for you all.

Getting Ready

First things first, safety, right? I made sure I had all my gear on: helmet, jacket, gloves, the whole nine yards. Don’t want to be a squid out there. I also picked a long, straight stretch of road – it was actually a deserted service road I know of, so minimal traffic, and definitely no cops around. (Wink, wink.)

I checked my tire pressure, made sure the chain was lubed, and basically gave the bike a quick once-over to make sure everything was looking good.

The Runs

  • Run 1: Okay, so the first run, I was a little hesitant. I crouched down as much as I could, trying to get as aerodynamic as possible. I gradually opened the throttle, shifting smoothly through the gears. I hit around, let’s say, 108km/h. Not bad, but I felt like the bike had more to give.
  • Run 2: This time, I was a bit more aggressive. Full throttle, tucked in tight, really trying to squeeze every last bit of speed out of that 125cc engine. The wind was screaming past my helmet, I glanced the speedometer: it reached around 115km/h. Better!
  • Run 3: Okay, final run. I was determined to push it. Same approach as before – full throttle, tucked in, and I really focused on keeping the revs high. I felt the engine straining, the vibrations picking up. And then… boom! I saw 121km/h. I held it there for a few seconds, then eased off the throttle.

My Thoughts

So, there you have it. Around 121km/h. Now, keep in mind, this is just my experience. Things like my weight, the wind conditions, and even the fuel I was using could all affect the top speed. But I think, overall, it’s a pretty good representation of what this little beast can do.

It’s a pretty fun bike, and 121km/h on a 125 is nothing to sneeze at. Just remember to always ride safe and within your limits, folks!
