Okay, so I wanted to mess around with some old NBA data, specifically the Lakers’ 2017-2018 roster. It’s kinda fun to look back and see how teams have changed, right?
First, I needed to find the actual roster. I started by just googling “Lakers 2017-2018 roster”. Seriously, sometimes the easiest way is the best way.
I found a few different websites listing the players. Some had more details than others, like player stats and stuff. I grabbed the player names from one of the more complete-looking lists.
- Lonzo Ball
- Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
- Brandon Ingram
- Kyle Kuzma
- Brook Lopez
- …and a bunch more!
Once I had my intial list I wanted to get some more specifics.
Digging Deeper
I went back to google and typed in the name of the first few players individually and added the phrase “2017-2018 season stats”.

This gave me some individual player stats during this season. I am not going to list those here but I copied and pasted them into my notes.
That’s pretty much it! It wasn’t rocket science, just a bit of searching and organizing the info I found. I ended up with a full list of players and some basic stats from that season. It’s cool to see how many of those guys are still in the league, and how their careers have progressed since then!
