Ans van Dijk: Who is she? Learn all about this historical figure!

Okay, so today I messed around with “ans van dijk”. I had never heard of it before, but it popped up in my feed, and the name sounded interesting. Sounded kinda… artsy? So I decided to give it a shot. This is what I did.

First Steps: What the Heck is it?

First, I googled it. Seriously, that’s always step one, right? I typed in “ans van dijk” and saw a bunch of stuff about an artist, paintings and exhibitions. Seemed cool, and definitely confirmed my initial “artsy” thought.

Digging a Little Deeper

Then, I started looking at some of the images. They are pretty vibrant with colors. I noticed a lot of abstract shapes and bold colors. It wasn’t really my usual style, but it had a certain… I don’t know… energy to it. I felt a bit inspired to make something similar

Trying to Get the Style

  • I opened up my image editor (It’s a simple one nothing fancy).
  • I picked a blank canvas, a pretty big one, because why not?
  • I chose some bright, solid colors. Think like, really bright red, a deep blue, and a sunny yellow.

Experimenting with Shapes

I started by just making big blocks of color. No real plan, just slapping them on the canvas. Then I added some overlapping circles, and some wonky rectangles. I tried to make it look random, but also kind of balanced, if that makes sense. I erased parts and redrew them a bunch of times. I made some lines that went from thick to thin.

Stepping Back and Tweaking

After a while, I zoomed out to see the whole thing. It looked… okay. A bit messy, but in a fun way. I played with the colors some more, making some areas brighter and others darker. I even added a few little details, like tiny dots and squiggles, just to make it more interesting.

My Final Result

Honestly, it doesn’t look exactly like the stuff I saw online, but I can kinda see the influence. It’s bold, it’s colorful, and it’s definitely abstract. I actually had a lot of fun making it, even though I had no idea what I was doing at first. It just goes to show, sometimes it’s good to try something new, even if it’s a bit outside your comfort zone. Would i do it again? Hmmm not sure, but It was fun for today.
