Alright, so I was messing around online the other day, and I stumbled upon this video of Simone Biles throwing the first pitch at a Houston Astros game. Now, I’m not the biggest baseball fan, but I know greatness when I see it, and let me tell you, this was something else!
First off, I had to do a little digging to remind myself who Simone Biles is. Turns out, she’s only like, the greatest gymnast of all time! Seven-time Olympic Gold medalist, people! I watched a few of her gymnastics routines online, and my jaw just dropped. The things this woman can do with her body are insane.
- I started by searching for the video on various sports websites.
- Then, I watched a bunch of Simone Biles’s Olympic performances because, why not?
- I might have tried to imitate a couple of her moves, but let’s not talk about that…
So, back to the baseball game. I found a video titled something like “Simone Biles’ Incredible Opening Houston Astros Pitch.” It wasn’t a very creative title, but the content was amazing. I watched the video probably five times, showing it to my family, and we were all amazed.
The video starts, and there’s Simone, all smiles, walking out to the pitcher’s mound. She’s in an Astros jersey, looking like she was born to be there. Then, instead of just winding up and throwing, she does this crazy side aerial flip thing right before she lets go of the ball!
She Nailed It!
The crowd went wild, and I’m pretty sure my jaw hit the floor again. I mean, who does that? It’s like she can’t help but be amazing, even when she’s just throwing a baseball. It was mentioned on a local news piece that she’s thrown the first pitch at Minute Maid Park like, three times now. This woman is a legend around here!
I spent the rest of the afternoon reading articles about her. Apparently, she had just come off another incredible performance at the Paris Olympics, and this was sort of a homecoming celebration for her. It’s so cool to see someone at the top of their game, just absolutely crushing it in everything they do. I don’t care if there were no judges at the baseball field, that flip was still gold medal-worthy, in my opinion. There was even a mention that she’s going for her third gold medal in the vault event soon. Go, Simone!
Anyway, that’s my little story about how I ended up becoming an even bigger Simone Biles fan. It’s not every day you see someone redefine what’s possible, both in their sport and apparently, in pre-game baseball rituals. I wanted to share this with everyone because it made my day, and I hope it made yours a little brighter too. I just know that I’m going to keep an eye out for her.
