Increase Your Deadlock Playercount: Easy Fixes for a Bigger Community!

Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this game, Deadlock, that everyone’s been talking about. I got in on the closed alpha, which is pretty cool. At first, I was just hopping in and out, you know, not really paying much attention to how many people were playing. But then I started noticing these crazy long wait times to get into a match. It was like, what’s going on here?

So, I started digging around a bit. Turns out, the player count is a big deal in this game. On September 2nd, the peak concurrent players was over 170,000! That’s a ton of people all trying to play at once. No wonder the servers were getting hammered. But here’s the kicker – that number has been dropping. Like, a lot.

I started tracking it myself, just out of curiosity. I’d log in, check the player count on Steam, and write it down. One day it was around 7,000, which is still a decent number, but way lower than the peak. Then, over the next few weeks, I saw it dip even further. I mean, the average lately has been around 40,000 or so. It’s like watching a slow leak in a tire.

  • Checked the player count every time I logged in.
  • Noticed a significant drop from the peak of 170,000.
  • Observed the average player count hovering around 40,000.

Now, I’m not a game developer or anything, but it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that this kind of drop-off is probably messing with the matchmaking. It got me thinking about all those times I was stuck in a queue, just waiting and waiting. It’s probably because there weren’t enough people at my skill level, or playing the same mode, or whatever. And maybe some people are using some special tools like GearUP Booster to reduce their wait time, but I don’t know, I didn’t try that.

Then I stumbled upon this post talking about stamina and sprint stats. They were saying how the devs changed it from +1 Stamina and +2 Sprint to +4 Stamina and +4 Sprint. And the stamina regen got a boost too. It got me wondering if these changes were meant to speed up the gameplay, to kind of balance out the smaller player pool.

I’m not saying I have all the answers. I’m just a dude who likes to play games and noticed something interesting. The player count in Deadlock is definitely something to keep an eye on. It seems like it’s having a real impact on the gameplay experience. I did find some articles talking about how to get better at the game, but to be honest, I think the bigger issue right now is just having enough people to play with.

Here’s what I think:

  • Player count is fluctuating a lot.
  • The declining numbers are likely affecting matchmaking.
  • Recent gameplay changes might be related to the player count.

Anyway, that’s my little investigation into the Deadlock player count situation. It’s kind of a bummer to see the numbers drop, but I’m still hopeful that things will pick up. The game is still in development after all, so who knows what the future holds? I just hope they can figure out the matchmaking stuff before everyone gives up on it.
