Elden Ring Rold Route Tips and Tricks – Your Path to the Mountaintops!

Alright, let’s talk about my little adventure in “Elden Ring,” specifically the whole Rold Route thing. I gotta say, it was quite a ride, and not always the fun kind if you know what I mean.

So, I started off feeling all pumped up after I finally beat Morgott, the Omen King. Took me a while, but man, that felt good. After that, everyone’s talking about this Rold Route. It’s like the next big thing, the path to the Grand Lift of Rold and then some more cool areas to explore, I thought, “Sure, let’s do this!” I didn’t realize what I was getting myself into. To even start this journey, I needed to have already taken down at least two shardbearers or dealt with Radahn to make my way to the capital, as you know, this game has its own way of doing things, there’s no straight line to anywhere.

First off, finding the way to the Rold Route wasn’t exactly a walk in the park. There are a bunch of steps, and it’s not like the game holds your hand and shows you the way. I had to do a lot of backtracking and figuring things out on my own. And the enemies? Don’t even get me started. Every corner I turned, there was something waiting to jump out at me. Tough doesn’t even begin to cover it. I was told to always check the map but what I found is that it’s not even that helpful.

I remember stumbling upon this place called Perfumer’s Grotto. Now, here’s a neat trick I learned. As soon as I got there, I saved the game and quit. When I loaded it back up, boom! I was at the top of the Grand Lift of Rold. This move is not easy though. I was so happy and saved me some serious time and probably a few deaths. It’s like I cheated the system a little, but hey, all’s fair in love and “Elden Ring,” right?

  • Save and Quit: I did this trick at Perfumer’s Grotto to skip ahead. It worked like a charm, but I don’t know if it works elsewhere.
  • Enemies: They’re tough, and there are a lot of them. I spent a good chunk of my time just trying not to die.
  • Grand Lift of Rold: This is the main goal of the Rold Route, and it leads to some interesting places. But getting there is half the battle.
  • Mountaintops of the Giants: Once I used the Grand Lift, I ended up here. More exploring, more enemies, the usual. I found the Zamor Ruins grace here which was nice.
  • Map: It’s useful I guess, but don’t rely on it too much. I found myself wandering around a lot.

So yeah, that’s pretty much how I got through the Rold Route. It’s a tough journey with a lot of challenges, but also a few shortcuts if you know where to look. If you’re planning on tackling it yourself, be prepared. It’s not easy, but it’s definitely an experience. I mean, that’s “Elden Ring” for you. Always keeping us on our toes.

Well, that’s my two cents on the Rold Route. Hope you found my experience helpful, or at least entertaining. It’s a wild game, but that’s why we love it, right?

Tips and Tricks:

  • Use the save and quit trick: If you find the right spot, it can save you a lot of trouble.
  • Be ready to fight: It’s not a leisurely stroll, so keep your weapons ready.
  • Explore: Even though it’s tough, there are cool things to find. Just watch your back!

And that’s all folks! Hope my rambling was somewhat useful. Stay safe out there in the Lands Between!
