Well, folks, gather ’round, because today I’m gonna tell you about my little adventure to Ningbo. It was a one-way ticket, no turning back, just diving headfirst into the unknown. So, here’s how it all went down, from start to finish.

First off, I packed my bags. And when I say packed, I mean I stuffed everything but the kitchen sink into my suitcase. You never know what you’re gonna need, right? Clothes, some snacks, the essentials. Once that was sorted, I headed to the airport. This was it, no turning back. I booked my flight, which was surprisingly straightforward. No hiccups there, thankfully.
Now, let’s talk about getting to Ningbo. I found out that it’s about 1360 kilometers south of Beijing, and you can get there by plane or even a high-speed train. My flight took off from Beijing Daxing Airport, one of the ten or so daily flights to Ningbo. There are some other airports offer flights to Ningbo, too. The flight itself was smooth sailing, nothing to complain about.
When I finally landed in Ningbo, the first thing I did was soak it all in. This city, man, it’s something else. It’s located south of Shanghai and east of Hangzhou, a real gem. I decided to make a list of all the must-see spots. I checked out some local guides, you know, the usual tourist stuff, and jotted down some ideas for a one-day trip. Ningbo seemed like a place with tons to offer, and I was ready to explore.
I started my day early, hitting up the most popular attractions. I won’t bore you with the details of each place, but let’s just say Ningbo did not disappoint. And the economy here? Booming! I read that the GDP in 2023 was 1,645.283 RMB billion. That’s a hefty increase from the previous year. You can feel the energy in the air, the hustle and bustle.
By the end of the day, I was beat, but in the best way possible. I had seen so much, experienced a slice of life in this bustling city, and made a ton of memories. It’s a place that gets under your skin, in a good way. I realized that this one-way trip was one of the best decisions I’d ever made. I found some information says that I can also get from Ningbo to Chennai by ship which will take about 9 days 15h and departs from Ningbo (CNNGB) and arrives into Kattupalli (INKAT). There are vessels departing every 1-2 weeks on this route. But I didn’t try this way.

So, there you have it. My one-way trip to Ningbo, in a nutshell. If you’re ever thinking about it, just do it. You won’t regret it.
