Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another weekly grind update. This week’s focus was all about the Nightfall weapon rotation. I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter online about what’s dropping, so I figured I’d jump in and share my experience.
First off, I booted up the game and checked the Nightfall playlist. This week, it’s The Slammer sword. I know some of you might be thinking, “Ugh, another sword?” But hey, it’s a chance to add something new to the collection, right?
I spent some time reading up on the weapon. This one is solid, at least the online community seems like it. I hopped into a few lower-difficulty Nightfalls to get a feel for the rotation and the challenges. Gotta say, the drop rates for the regular version are pretty stingy. I ran through Hero and Legend difficulties a couple of times, and nada. Zilch. Not even a whiff of the weapon.
But, like many of you hardcore grinders out there, I wasn’t about to give up that easily. I rallied a couple of clanmates, and we decided to tackle a Grandmaster Nightfall. The goal? That sweet, sweet Adept version of The Slammer. We went in knowing it was going to be tough, but we were determined to get that Platinum score.
Let me tell you, the Grandmaster was no joke. We wiped a few times, had to adjust our strategies on the fly, and really lean on our communication. It was intense, to say the least.
- First Attempt: We got cocky and went in guns blazing. Big mistake. Champions everywhere, and we got overwhelmed. Wipe.
- Second Attempt: We slowed down, focused on taking out the Champions methodically, and used our supers more strategically. Progress, but still not enough. Another wipe.
- Third Time’s the Charm: We refined our strategy even further, designated roles for each Champion type, and really nailed down our positioning. It was a nail-biter, but we finally cleared it with a Platinum score!
And the reward? An Adept The Slammer dropped for each of us. It felt amazing to finally get my hands on it after all that effort. I spent some time testing it out, and while I’m not a sword expert, it definitely feels powerful. Plus, the Adept mods and the stat boosts from masterworking make it even better.
So, to sum it up: regular Nightfalls? Don’t expect much. Grandmaster with a Platinum score? That’s where the real loot is. It’s a grind, but if you’re determined and have a good fireteam, it’s definitely achievable. Happy hunting, everyone!
