So, I kept waking up, you know, feeling like I’d been… busy. But I was sleeping alone! It was freaking me out. I’d be totally out of it, dead asleep, and then I’d wake up, and it was like, “Whoa, what just happened?” I thought I was going crazy, or maybe there was a ghost getting frisky in my room, which, honestly, wouldn’t be the weirdest thing that’s happened to me.

I started to record myself sleeping. Yeah, I know, sounds creepy, but I had to figure this out. I set up my phone on my bedside table, hit record, and went to sleep.

The first few nights, nothing. Just me snoring and drooling a little. But then, one night, I watched the video, and there it was. Me, in the middle of the night, moaning and… well, you get the idea. It was like watching someone else, it didn’t even feel like me. I couldn’t believe that. At that moment I knew I was having sexonia, but I still had no clue how to do with it.

Try To Find Something Clues

  • Checked my phone to watch YouTube Shorts again and again, but it’s useless, just a bunch of silly videos.
  • I spent ages scrolling through Twitter, looking at what was trending. Dodgers? Greg Gumbel? #SmackDown? Mike Brown? How did these relate to me? Nope, nothing about weird sleep stuff.
  • Then, TikTok. I figured maybe someone else out there was dealing with this. I found a lot of people talking about sex, for sure, but nothing like what I was going through. But I did see some trends, like, people talking about their weird sleep habits.

I realized this wasn’t just me being a weirdo. This was a real thing. I read online that it could be caused by stress, or other sleep problems. This made sense. I’d been super stressed about work, and I’ve always been a restless sleeper, plus the heartburn at night was definitely not helping.

So, what did I do? Well, I haven’t totally solved it yet, but I’m trying a few things. I’m trying to reduce my stress levels, maybe do some yoga or meditation before bed. Also, I’m trying to fix my sleep schedule, you know, go to bed and wake up at the same time every day. It’s a work in progress, but I’m hoping I can get this under control. At least I know I’m not possessed by a horny ghost.

Anyway, that’s my story about sexonia. It’s weird, it’s embarrassing, but hey, it’s my life. Maybe by sharing this, someone else out there who’s going through the same thing won’t feel so alone. Or maybe they’ll just get a good laugh. Either way, I’m putting it out there.
