Okay, so the other day, I was watching some football highlights, and Spencer Rattler’s name popped up again. Made me think, you know, what was this guy really like back in high school? You hear all the hype, but I wanted to see what the story was myself.

My Little Dig into Rattler’s High School Days
So, I did what anyone does, right? I grabbed my phone and just started searching. Typed in stuff like “spencer rattler high school” and “where did spencer rattler play high school ball”. Pretty basic stuff.
First thing that came up clear as day: Pinnacle High School. That’s in Phoenix, Arizona. Okay, cool, got the place.
Then I started digging a bit more into what he actually did there. And man, the dude was apparently a big deal even then. Like, not just local news big, but national recruit big.
- Saw he was a five-star recruit. That’s like, the top rating you can get coming out of high school. Tells you people expected huge things from him right from the jump.
- Numbers were kinda crazy. I saw mentions of him breaking the Arizona state record for passing yards. Threw a ton of touchdowns too. Just lighting up scoreboards.
- Then I remembered! He was on that Netflix show, “QB1: Beyond the Lights”. Season 3, I think? That definitely added to the whole legend back then. Showed a lot of the pressure and stuff.
The Full Picture
It wasn’t all just smooth sailing and touchdowns, though. My search also brought up that suspension thing during his senior year. Sounded like he broke some school district rule, had to sit out some games. Didn’t get into the nitty-gritty details, but it was part of his story back then too. Shows that even the big stars have bumps in the road, I guess.
After all that, he ended up going to Oklahoma, which most people know. But yeah, looking back at the high school chapter was interesting. You could see the raw talent, the big arm, and why everyone was talking about him so much. Definitely explains the hype train that followed him to college.

So yeah, that was my little dive into Spencer Rattler’s time at Pinnacle High. Just wanted to see what the records showed and what popped up. Quite the journey even before he hit the college fields.
