Alright, let’s talk about my time trying out Carnage in Marvel Rivals. I’d seen a few people playing him, looking absolutely chaotic, so I figured I had to give him a shot myself once I got the chance.

Fired up the game, went straight to character select and picked him. First thing I did was jump into the practice range, just to get a feel for his moves without getting blasted immediately. Right off the bat, you notice he’s all about getting in close and personal. His basic attacks felt okay, kinda slashy, but the real fun started when I messed with his abilities.
Getting the Hang of It
Okay, so moving around with him felt… slippery? In a good way, mostly. He’s got these leaps and dashes that let you cover ground surprisingly fast. Took me a bit to not just overshoot my target or slam into a wall. Controlling that movement is key, I learned that the hard way in my first few actual matches.
My first few attempts in real games were rough, not gonna lie.
- Got absolutely melted trying to charge straight in.
- Misfired his bigger attacks more times than I can count.
- Felt kinda useless when the fight was happening at a distance.
I was just feeding the enemy team, basically. It was frustrating. I almost switched off him after the second disastrous match.
Figuring Out the Flow
But I stuck with it. Went back to basics. Started thinking less about charging headfirst and more about flanking. Using his speed to get around the sides or behind the enemy team seemed way more effective. Pop out, cause some mayhem, try to single someone out, and then use that quick movement to get back to safety or reposition.

That’s when it started to click. He’s not a tank, you can’t just soak up damage. You gotta be an opportunist, a real predator type. Wait for an opening, strike hard and fast, and then disappear. His ability to climb walls or stick to ceilings (or whatever that crazy movement is) really helps with finding those sneaky angles.
Found he works really well if you coordinate a bit with your team. Let the bulkier guys draw attention, then you swing in like a wrecking ball on their squishier targets. It felt pretty satisfying when I finally pulled off a good flank and took out their healer before they knew what hit ’em.
Final Thoughts (For Now)
So yeah, playing Carnage was a ride. He’s definitely got a higher skill floor than some other characters I’ve tried. You need good map awareness and timing. He feels incredibly rewarding when you get it right, just pure chaos and aggression. But mess up, and you’re back at the spawn point real quick.
He’s staying in my roster, for sure. Needs more practice, lots more practice. But the potential to just completely disrupt the enemy team is too fun to pass up. Just gotta remember: be sneaky, be fast, and don’t try to fight the whole team head-on.
