Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with something I’ve been thinking about for a while: the 76ers and the Golden State Warriors. I’m no expert, just a guy who likes basketball and wanted to see what all the fuss was about.
I started by just watching a bunch of their games. I mean, a LOT of games. Old games, new games, highlights – you name it. I just wanted to get a feel for how each team plays. I grabbed some snacks, settled into my couch, and dove in.
Then I started taking some notes. Nothing fancy, just jotting down stuff I noticed. Like, how often does Curry get open for a three? How does Embiid handle double-teams? Stuff like that. My notebook ended up looking like a crazy person’s scribbles, but it made sense to me.
- Watched a ton of 76ers games.
- Watched just as many Golden State games.
- Jotted down what I saw.
- Compared the notes between the teams.
Next, I tried to see if there were any patterns. Did the 76ers struggle against teams that moved the ball a lot? Did Golden State have trouble with dominant big men? It was kinda like being a detective, but without the cool hat and the trench coat.
After that, I decided to compare the two teams head-to-head. I looked at their recent matchups and tried to figure out why one team won or lost. Was it coaching? Was it one player having a monster game? Or was it just luck? It was pretty interesting to see how these two different styles matched up.
I finished up by writing down some of my overall thoughts. This was the hardest part, to be honest. Putting all those observations into actual sentences was tough. But, I think I got a better understanding of what makes these teams tick. It was a fun little project, and it definitely made me appreciate the game even more. I even learned a few new things by doing it this way!
I found that when both teams play each other, it really is a great show. Both teams are fun to watch and I am really enjoying watching them. I am planning to watch more games and learn more!
I’m not saying I’m some kind of basketball genius now, but it was a cool way to spend a few days. Maybe I’ll do this again with some other teams. Any suggestions?
