2023 U.S. Senior Open: Whos Playing and Where to Watch!

Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another story to tell. Today, I’m gonna talk about that time I tried to keep up with the 2023 U.S. Senior Open. Man, what a ride that was!

2023 U.S. Senior Open: Whos Playing and Where to Watch!

So, first things first, I had to figure out how to actually watch the thing. I found out that the first two rounds were gonna be on Golf Channel and something called Peacock. I had no idea what that was, but I was determined! The last two rounds, they told me, were gonna be split between NBC and Golf Channel. Sounds easy enough, right?

I also discovered that if you signed up for some “Directv Stream” thing, you could get a 5-day free trial and watch it all. Plus, they threw in some other stuff like Max, Paramount+, and Starz. I don’t know much about those channels or streaming services, but free is free, so I thought, why not?

Next, I needed to know when this whole shindig was going down. Turns out, it was from June 29th to July 2nd, 2023. And get this, it was all happening at a place called SentryWorld in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. I even found a fan guide online with all the details about tickets and parking. I wasn’t planning on going in person, but it was cool to see all that info.

Now, the real fun began when I tried to follow the actual tournament. I managed to find a live leaderboard online, which was pretty neat. There was a playoff, I think it was the fourth, Richard Bland made this crazy shot on the 18th hole, from a greenside bunker, and won the whole thing!

I also dug up some info about who was playing. Apparently, there were 156 golfers, including 9 past champions like Brad Bryant and Fred Funk. They were all competing for the title of the 43rd U.S. Senior Open Championship. Fancy, huh?

Oh, and here’s a fun fact: the USGA, whoever they are, were offering free Wi-Fi at the event, powered by Cisco. That’s pretty thoughtful, right? You could be right there at SentryWorld, enjoying the tournament, and still be connected to the internet.

Here is my summary:

  • Found out how to watch: Golf Channel, Peacock, NBC, and Directv Stream.
  • Figured out the dates: June 29th to July 2nd, 2023.
  • Located the place: SentryWorld, Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
  • Tracked the action: Live leaderboard and news updates.
  • Learned about the players: 156 golfers, including 9 past champions.
  • Discovered free Wi-Fi: Offered by USGA, powered by Cisco.

All in all, it was a bit of a hassle to get all the info, but hey, I did it! I got to follow the 2023 U.S. Senior Open, even though I didn’t know much about golf. It was a fun experience, and I learned a thing or two along the way. Until next time, folks!
