2018 Suzuki GSX 250 Review: Is It Worth the Hype?

Okay, so, let’s talk about this 2018 Suzuki GSX 250 I messed around with a while back. I remember first seeing it and thinking, “Damn, that looks pretty sharp.” It’s got that sporty vibe, you know? Kinda like its big brother, the GSX-R1000R. I was pretty excited to get my hands on it and see what it could do.

2018 Suzuki GSX 250 Review: Is It Worth the Hype?

First thing I did was check out the price tag, which was around $4,499. Not too bad, honestly. It’s a bit cheaper than some of the other bikes in its class, like the Honda CB300R or the Kawasaki Ninja 300, so that was a plus right off the bat.

Getting Started

I started digging into the history of this bike. Turns out, it was based on the GSR250 series. The manufacturer, Changzhou Haojue Suzuki Motorcycle Co., Ltd., announced it in 2016, and then it was shown off at the EICMA that same year. Cool, cool.

Taking It for a Spin

Now, for the fun part. Actually riding the thing. The GSX250R felt pretty good. It was responsive, but not in a scary way, making it easy to control. The power band was broad, which was nice. I took it for a few rides around town, and it handled like a dream. It’s nimble, that’s for sure.

  • Engine: It’s got a 248cc parallel-twin engine.
  • Fuel Tank: Holds about 15 liters.
  • Seat Height: Around 790mm.
  • Weight: 181kg.
  • Price: In my region starts from R69 600.

Wrapping Up

All in all, I was pretty impressed with the 2018 Suzuki GSX250R. It’s a solid bike, especially for newer riders. It’s got a refined character, and it’s pretty roomy, which is a big plus. If you’re looking for a good-looking, easy-to-handle sportbike that won’t break the bank, this one’s definitely worth checking out. I had a blast riding it, and I think you would too. If you need a bike, it is a good bike, I think.
