Hey guys, what’s up? It’s your boy back again with another sharing session. Today, I wanna talk about the 2014 IndyCar Series. Man, what a year that was for racing fans!
So, first things first, I started by hitting up the usual spots online to try and find some results. You know, just to refresh my memory, see what all went down that year. I hit up ESPN’s website and they had a pretty good rundown of all the races, which was cool. Nothing fancy, you know, just the basic stuff like who won and what track it was at.
Then I stumbled upon another site that claimed to have complete statistics for every major racing series. Now that got me interested. Formula E, MotoGP, you name it. They even had info for the IndyCar series, so I dug a little deeper into that. Found some driver rankings, track info, and even a little blog. It was a bit cluttered, but hey, information is information, right?
Next, I remembered that 2014 was the year of the 98th Indy 500. “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing”! I had to find some details on that. I found a site that specifically talked about the 2014 Indy 500, it mentioned that it was the fifth round of the Verizon IndyCar Series and of course, it was held at the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Then I found some race-specific details. For instance, I saw that there was a Grand Prix of Houston. And it wasn’t just one race, it was two! One on June 29th at Reliant Park, and another one on July 6th at Pocono Raceway called the Pocono IndyCar 500. Then there was another one on July 12th at Iowa Speedway – the Iowa Corn race, I guess that’s what it was called.
But I wanted more, you know? I wanted to relive the whole season. Luckily, I found a page with race highlights for all 18 IndyCar races of 2014. That was awesome, man, it took me back to each race, each victory, each nail-biting moment.
Finally, for those of you who are really into the stats and standings, I found a site that claimed to have the complete 2014 standings for the IndyCar Series. Unfortunately, it didn’t seem to be very detailed and I didn’t bother to spend much time on it.
