Okay, so I’ve been meaning to really dig into the details of my 2006 Yamaha FJR1300. I figured, why not document the whole process and share it? Maybe it’ll help someone else out there, or maybe it’s just for my own nerdy satisfaction. Either way, here we go!

Getting Started: Finding Reliable Info
First things first, I needed to get my hands on some solid specifications. You know, not just some random forum posts, but the real, official deal. I spent a good chunk of time searching.
I started looking for some data, and eventually, I found some pretty comprehensive spec sheets.
Diving into the Details
Now for the fun part – actually looking at the specs! Here’s a rundown of what I focused on:
- Engine:I looked at that engine. 1298cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four. That’s the heart of this beast! It really gives it that smooth power delivery that I love.
- Power: I wanted to see those numbers. It is rated around 145 horsepower. That’s a good number, explains why it feels so strong on the open road.
- Transmission: Checked out the transmission – 5-speed. Pretty standard, but I wanted to make note of it.
- Weight: This thing is heavy. I see that it’s listed at around 640 lbs (dry weight, I think). Definitely not a lightweight, but that contributes to the stable ride.
- Fuel Capacity:Large tank 6.6 gallons,good for long hauls!
- Seat Height: The seat height is relatively good, something around 31 inches.
Putting It All Together
So, after gathering all these details, I started to put it on paper. It gave me a much clearer picture of what my bike is all about, technically speaking.
It’s one thing to feel how the bike performs, but it’s another to actually see the numbers and understand the mechanics behind it.

Anyway, that’s my little project for the day. Hope you found it somewhat interesting! Maybe I’ll tackle another bike spec deep-dive soon. We’ll see!
