Rhapsody hosts Italia in Un Piatto – Italy on a platter, the great Italian gastronomic experience.
Rhapsody, at the Courtyard by Marriott is unveiling the food fest "Italia in un Piatto – Italy on a Platter", a food festival that showcase the true flavor of the regions of Italy this
August. Chef Francisco Miguel Holmes-Brown is hosting this Italian feast for Chennaites. Chef Francisco has come down from Courtyard by Marriott's renowned signature Italian restaurant Cucina, in Dubai to host the festival which will include a sumptuous spread of region specific traditional Italian food. The cuisine has its origins from regions like Veneto, Marche, Abruzzo, Calabria to Emilia-Romagna and is an ode to the gastro hubs of Italy. "Italia in un Piatto" is on from August 7 2008 to August 20 2008 at Rhapsody.
Inspired by the Italian trattorias, with their easy comfortable charm, and fabulous service, Rhapsody offers authentic flavors from the sun soaked Mediterranean region of Italy. The menu on offer is directly from the land of cheese, wine & pasta and resonates of food ranging from sophisticated and refined delicacies to rustic, hearty, bold-flavored soul food. The recipes are what Chef Fransisco picked up from the kitchens of his mother and his grand dad.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Ramesh Jackson, GM, Courtyard by Marriott said, "Italian food has a wonderful diversity which we wanted to explore. Our food fest "Italian in un Piatto - Italy on a Platter" will take our diner through Italy's rich culinary heritage; an experience which we promise the food aficionados' in Chennai have not really experienced before. Chef Francisco adds, "We wanted the food fest to be like taking a journey through Italy; varied and adventurous. Traditional recipes from Le Marche, Tuscany, Abruzzo etc have been taken to give the diner a true taste of authentic regional cuisine and we are very excited with the end result. We wanted to display the broad ranging culinary heritage through these magnificent dishes and the result is our Italian food fare rightfully named "Italian in un Piatto"."
Rhapsody will serve everything from delectable ocean-tinged Tuna Carpaccio and Tuscan style lamb rack to the Venetian Risotto and Mascarponata Pizza at the food fare. Rhapsody's "Italian in un Piatto" will cater just as ably to those who crave a sweet touch to send them off into the night blissful with Chef Francisco serving Chocolate and Vanilla Ice Cream Truffle with Amarena Cherries called Tartufo to Carpaccio d'arance con Zabaione a beautiful fusion of oranges infused with the freshness of Basil and Sabayon among other sinful desserts.
