Answer: Keeping its options open till the presidential elections are over is certainly not a disadvantage to the AIADMK.

Question: Don't you think that Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh's requesting the NDA to support the Congress-left candidate Pratibha Patil is proper since President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam was elected unanimously last time?
Answer: I do not subscribe to this analogy. The NDA had sought prior approval all concerned before proposing Kalam's candidature, whereas the Congress-left combine has not done something similar this time.

Question: Chief Minister Karunanidhi has advised Union Law Minister that the centre should consider legalising self-respect marriages on an all-India basis a la Tamil Nadu. Comment
Answer: The earlier system of conducting marriages before a registrar is cheaper because it doesn't involve a priest and ceremonies (including the speeches delivered by politicians in self-respect affairs). Will other states not raise this issue?
